Overview

As we are all well aware, we've done a tremendous amount of damage to our global environment over the past fifty years or so. This was done through ignorance, not malice, for the most part.

Because of this, there has been a major emphasis on educating the world's population on sound global ecology. If we are ever to save this world from environmental destruction, we must learn to live in concert with all other life on this planet.

That is the purpose of this course; to provide you not only with environmental awareness, but also to provide you with some knowledge of ecology and the environment.  The more you dedicate yourself to this course, the better able you will be to understand other species and their needs.

My feelings in regards to this course are best summed up in the following quotation:

" In the end, we will conserve only what we love,

we will love only what we understand,

we will understand only what we are taught.”

~Baba Dioum,  Senegalese conservationist
